Before You Came Along is run by Life of Adventure and Change LLC. Friends and family write down memories of someone they love, and that person gets a few a day, each one illustrated, as a gift. The person who sets up the gift is the organizer. By using this site, you agree to these terms.
Writing and reading moments is for invited people and the person the gift is for. A few pages are public: the home page, beforeyou.love/examples, and each gift's landing page.
Setting up a gift is free, and a gift holds 10 moments free. Only the organizer pays. Nobody who writes a moment pays anything. For more moments, the organizer buys a larger gift:
Animation makes every picture move for a few seconds. It costs extra: $39 for up to 50 moments, $69 for up to 100 moments, $179 for up to 300 moments.
Moving to a larger gift costs the difference between the two prices. Each price is paid once, in US dollars. Sales tax may be added where the law requires it. Moments unlock as soon as the payment goes through.
Payments go through Stripe, and the site never sees your card number. Stripe emails a receipt for every payment.
Some gifts offer to save your card. If you save it, we charge it again when your gift passes 50 moments and again when it passes 100, each time by the difference in price. Moments never cost more than $299 in all. If you bought animation, its price steps up the same way. To stop future charges, write to hello@beforeyou.love.
If you're not happy, write to hello@beforeyou.love within 30 days of a payment and we will refund it in full. You don't need to give a reason. The money goes back to the card you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 business days.
By submitting a message, you grant the site owner permission to display your message and any generated illustrations to the people the privacy policy lists under "Who can see a moment": the organizer of the gift; the person the gift is for, and anyone they give their link to; people named in a delivered moment, if the organizer turns that on and you did not mark it only for the person the gift is for; and anyone, without signing in, if the site owner stars it as an example. A starred moment shows with your name on beforeyou.love/examples, on the home page, and on the landing page of every gift. You retain ownership of your original written content.
The person the gift is for may opt in to receive push notifications about new moments. Notifications can be disabled at any time in their device settings.
This site is provided as-is with no warranties. The site owner is not liable for any issues arising from use of the site.
